Celebration

Hey there, how you doin’?

Sorry I went missing last night, but I had a good excuse.  We went to happy hour with friends as I had told you, but it turned in to a bit more of a celebration.  Why you ask?  Well because I had some great news at work yesterday, which deserved a weeknight of fun.  Aka, red wine and sushi.  Perfecto.

This morning, I surprised myself and was able to wake up and get my booty to the gym.  But that also, unfortunately, didn’t allow me time to snap photos of my breakfast of yogurt, granola and a banana.  So refreshing. 

I do however have photos of the lunch that I forgot yesterday. 

A few weeks ago, Target had V8 soups on sale, so I picked up a few. Golden Butternut Squash soup is the base of my lunch today.

I have been extremely snacky at work lately, which has led to a few lbs. creepin’ around my waistline.  I’m not freaking out about the extra lbs; lets be real, a few extra don’t hurt during the Minnesota winters. ;) Maybe my body is trying to tell me to slow down and increase the volume in my meals.

So I decided to pack two sides in order to span out the time it takes me to consume my lunches. Maybe that is my problem? My mouth just likes to keep busy!

Hopefully that will do the trick. I still will consume and afternoon snack, but hopefully this deters me from all of the, errrr, chocolate, I have been consuming lately. :oops:

What do you do when you find yourself being much more snacky than normal? 

By the way, anybody watch Lost last night?  We had to Tivo it, but how was it?  Good?

  • I totally feel like an empty pit these past few weeks, don’t know if it’s the winter weather or what but I feel like I am never full… or maybe I am just mindlessly eating and blaming it on hunger, hmmmm. I think I need to up my protein intake actually, I may try some protein powder soon and see if that helps!

  • I love that V8 soup…it is a perfect thing to pack as lunch.

    I am a snack monster ALWAYS, and I just go with it. I try to be mindful and remember it all so that I don’t eat a big meal at some point and totally forget that I’ve already had 6 meals during the day

    Uh, LOST…love it! I am so happy it’s back on, I can’t believe I stayed up late to watch it all, and it was fantastic. I’m more confused than ever, but it was still fantastic. :-)

  • I’ve found that adding more protein to my diet makes me snack a lot less.

  • Red wine and sushi are my favorite way to celebrate! I blame a few extra pounds on the winter – I’m not sure what it is or why it happens….

  • that sounds so good (the soup) i love butternut squash

  • hmmm I have never tried laughing cow cheese before… it sounds delish with carrots!
